Team Secretary Kathy Flack was born in Central Florida and grew up in Northern Virginia. She was raised in a Christian family and had heard the gospel story many times from school, from church, and from her family, but she realized that the choice of accepting Christ as Savior was hers alone to make; and at the age of six, she was saved. Growing up, she loved to read missionary biographies like those about Gladys Aylward, Mary Slessor, and John and Betty Stam. These were an important influence on her life and gave her a longing to be used of God in similar ways. In junior high, she began to understand where she was spiritually and where God wanted her to be after hearing a sermon series from Proverbs on the wise, the simple, and the foolish man. It was then that she realized that she would not automatically become a godly Christian even though she had a good family, went to a good church and school, and had good friends. She realized the choices she made everyday had consequences whether good or bad. Through this and the many examples God placed around her, she began to seek God through daily prayer and Bible study knowing this was the only way her relationship with God could grow. While at Pensacola Christian College, the Lord provided opportunities for Kathy to be able to help teach a Sunday school, to help with Bible clubs, as well as to work in outreaches to nursing homes and a juvenile detention center. She graduated in 2010 with a Bible degree in Youth Ministries. Kathy has served at Northland Camp for the past three summers, and through the different ministry opportunities there, God has given her a heart for young people and has been teaching her what it means to trust Him completely and to have a close walk with Him.
